Tentatively.

I catch one tentative shadow
In the slightest reflection of my eyes.
Another pair wanders in,
to meet mine.
For a moment I wonder whether they had admired
What reflected in their mirrors
Had they watched for long
If at all?

If laughter is the music of the soul
Then, what might two friends’ shared laughter be?
That of a symphony?
Creating accidental harmony
They meet again, now
Less tentatively.
